LouSeal and Vinnie Chulk… what a pair!
First, let me direct you to the new blog from Clippers mascot LouSeal. Be sure to check it out during the season.
In other news, the Indians have inked right-hander Vinnie Chulk to a minor league contract. Chulk will get an invite to Major League camp and he’ll compete for the final opening in the bullpen.
Chulk, 30, has a Major League career record of 7-14 with a 4.36 ERA in 244 appearances. He was 0-3 with a 4.83 ERA in 27 games last year with the Giants.
Kerry Wood, Jensen Lewis, Rafael Betancourt Joe Smith and Masa Kobayashi are guaranteed relief spots (barring injury) and the final spot is up for grabs among five or six candidates.
Chulk could land in Columbus on Opening Day, but his stay may not be long. There is May 15th out-clause in his contract (if he’s not in the big leagues).
