Anthony also has a nice story on future Clippers outfielder Michael Brantley.
E-mail from Rick in Columbus:
“Is it true that George Lombard signed with the Indians?”
Yes, the former Clippers outfielder was a free agent signing this winter and he’s in minor league camp. It may be tough for George to find a job because the outfield is so crowded at the Triple-A level, but he’ll begin spring play with the Triple-A squad on March 16th. Right now the Clippers outfield would be LaPorta, Brantey, Crowe, and Head. All of the those players are younger than Lombard and valued as prospects in the organization.
