It will be an historic day in Columbus baseball history on Saturday, April 18th, as the Columbus Clippers play their first regular season home game at brand new Huntington Park. The Clippers will play host to their in-state rivals, the Toledo Mud Hens at 4:05 PM. The festivities will start at 12:00 PM noon when the Clippers release 1,500 standing-room-only tickets to be sold at the center field ticket windows (limit 4 per person). These tickets will be $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. Then at 1:15 PM, there will be a parade with players from Indians teams of the past along with the present day Clippers. The parade will start at the Columbus Convention Center and travel down Nationwide Boulevard towards Huntington Park. At the end of the parade, there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony where there will be a special statue unveiling. Finally, the gates of Huntington Park will open for the first time to the general public at 2:30 PM for fans to have plenty of time to explore the new park.
Aside from the 1,500 tickets to be released on April 18th, Opening Day seats at Huntington Park are at capacity. For more information on tickets to games later on in the season click here. Don’t forget about the first DIME-A-DOG Night of the season on Monday, April 20th!!
